In 2001, the parents of a 10 year old Michigan girl paid to have special service for their child traveling alone. On the flight from Kansas City to Detroit the girl claimed she was molested by the person sitting next to her. The 28 year old male passenger admitted to putting his hand on the girl's thigh to calm her and has been acquitted of criminal charges. The airline has agreed to pay the family a $500,000 settlement.
