The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of St. Louis Reaches a Financial Settlement

Six men who brought lawsuits against the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of St. Louis for sexual abuse will receive $312,500 with each receiving a settlement of between $90,000 and $20,000.

The men claimed that they were sexually molested by five priests in the diocese during the 1960s. The men were between 8 and 15 years of age at the time the abuse took place.

This is the ninth settlement relating to sexual abuse by clergy that has been resolved through mediation for the diocese. The total costs in settlements so far is $467,500.
