Wal-Mart Settles Unpaid Wages Class Action with 232,000 Ex-Employees
This is a settlement for the California - Overtime Violations lawsuit.
Oakland, CA: Retail giant Wal-Mart has agreed an $86 million settlement of a
wages and vacation pay class action brought by tens of thousands of former California employees who allege they did not receive these monies when the left the organization. According to media reports, some 232,000 former employees will share in the settlement funds.
The lawsuit claimed that after the employees left the company Wal-Mart failed to pay them their holiday and overtime wages or earnings within the time period specified by California law. The complaint was filed in 2006.
