2 victims identified in California plane crash

Redlands, CA: Two men who died in a recent plane crash have been identified by a California coroner's office.

Harwood Bland Fowler, 66, of Yorba Linda, and his passenger, Chad Christopher Kelly, 36, of Carlsbad, reportedly died at the scene after a small, single-engine airplane that Fowler was piloting crashed near the Redlands Municipal Airport, the Sun reports.

Crash VictimAccording to San Bernardino County coroner's office officials, Kelly was the pilot's son-in-law.

Ian Gregor, a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman, said the plane, a Quad City Challenger, left from French Valley Airport near Temecula and was headed to the Redlands airport when it crashed. Gregor added that the experimental plane crashed in an orange grove about a mile away from the airport.

"It's a small, single-engine plane with the wing over the cockpit," Gregor said. "It's registered to a Carlsbad, California resident."
San Bernardino County sheriff's officials allegedly received reports of a plane crash at 4:42 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16.

The FAA is currently investigating the plane crash and combing through the wreckage to determine a possible cause.ADNFCR-2533-ID-19367046-ADNFCR
