Baby Food Botulism
Some jars of Earth's Best baby food are being recalled due to clostridium botulinum. The affected jars are Organic 2 Apple Peach Barely Wholesome Breakfast baby food, manufactured by Bay Valley Foods.
The recalled food is for babies 6 months or older, and is sold in 4.5 ounce glass jars, individually or in variety packs. The affected jars are:

Botulism is a potentially fatal form of food poisoning - symptoms can include decreased frequency of stools, a weak cry, lethargy, weak suck or poor feeding. The illness usually starts within 18 to 36 hours of injesting the tainted food. The baby may show difficulty in swallowing, and drooling, followed by shallow breathing and respiratory arrest.
Seniors consuming the products can exhibit symptoms such as blurred vision, dizziness, dry mouth, and progressive weakness from head to legs. Constipation and urinary retention are also common.
