The state of Colorado will pay $133,333 for a family of three that died from an improperly installed 100 ft. girder. The state of Colorado law limits damages to $150,000 per person and $600,000 total, regardless of how many people get hurt. Surviving family members accepted a $1.5 million settlement, plus $200,000 in charitable donations, from private contractors and the state.
