Black & Decker Coffeemakers Recalled Due to Burn Hazard
About 9,800 Black & Decker Thermal Coffeemakers are being recalled because the coffeemakers can overheat and melt, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
So far, one report of a coffeemaker melting has been received by the distributor, Applica Consumer Products of Florida.
This recall involves Black & Decker 8-cup programmable thermal coffeemakers. Model number TCM1000IKT is printed on the rating plate on the bottom of the coffeemaker.
The coffeemakers were sold at Walmart and small retail stores nationwide from April 2008 through July 2009 for between $50 and $65.
