Cat and Kitten Food Recalled
The Georgia Dept. of Agriculture has announced Iams ProActive Health Cat and Kitten Food has been recalled, made by Proctor & Gamble. The company says says 3-ounce and 5.5 ounce cans with the dates 9/2011 to 6/2012 stamped on the bottom may contain low levels of thiamine, Vitamin B1.
A cat with a thiamine deficiency may show loss of appetite, salivation, vomiting and weight loss. In worst cases, the cat may show a downward curving of the neck, a wobbly gait, falling, circling and seizures. If your cat has any of these symptoms, call your veterinarian.
