Frozen, Stuffed Chicken Products Recalled
Consumer Reports Pieces of Plastic in the Product
Barber Foods Company, of Portland, Maine, is recalling approximately 6,050 pounds of frozen, stuffed chicken carving roast products that may contain foreign materials. The problem was discovered after receiving a consumer complaint about finding pieces of plastic in the product.The following products are subject to recall:
2.5-pound packages of "Market Day Stuffed Chicken Breast Roast with Rib Meat, with Cranberry and Sage Stuffing." Each product bears the establishment number "P-276" inside the USDA mark of inspection as well as the product code "1037, CAT. C" which is located on all sides of the box. The date code "31881" is located at the top of the ingredient statement on the box.
10-pound cases of "BARBER FOODS DISTINCTIONS Barber Carver with Cranberry and Sage Stuffing." Each product bears the establishment number "P-276" inside the USDA mark of inspection as well as the product code "031484" which is located on the label on the side of the case. The date code "31881" or "31882" is located on the top of the case.
The products were produced on Nov. 13, 2008, and were distributed by Market Day in the Midwest and Eastern United States and by Barber Foods to institutional food service establishments and as samples nationwide.
