Honda Recalls 400,000 Vehicles Over Brake Problems

New York, NY: Honda announced Tuesday that it is recalling over 400,000 vehicles in the US following reports from consumers of brake pedals feeling 'soft'.

The recall for potentially defective brakes includes 344,000 Odyssey minivans, and 68,000 Element crossover vehicles all in the 2007-2008 model years.

Honda plans to fix the vehicle stability assist modulators, some of which were assembled in such a way as to allow air to enter, reportedly. The trapped air could result in the brake pedal falling closer to the floor before the car stops, and the problem can increase over time in affected vehicles.

According to reports, Honda will begin contacting affected customers at the end of April.
