LeapFrog Recalls Batteries and Recharging Station


Consumers Report Burns

Following at least a dozen consumer reports of batteries overheating, and 1 person suffering a burn to the hand, LeapFrog is recalling its rechargeable batteries and recharging station for Didj Custom Gaming System. The recall involves about 35,000 units.

The recharging station comes with 2 rechargeable batteries, an AC adapter, and a recharging base. The recharging base is white with a green indicator light on the bottom. The Recharging Station for Didj was sold as item number 30676, which is printed on the box and on the bottom of the recharging base.

The units were sold at department and toy stores nationwide and www.leapfrog.com, and other online retailers from July 2008 through October 2008 for about $35.
