Allegations of Serious Safety defects with various late model Mercedes Benz S-class Luxury Sedans
A law firm is investigating a possible trend in complaints alleging a variety of serious safety issues with various model Mercedes S-class luxury sedans, apparently from the year 2000 onward.
Complaints about one of the more expensive of the Mercedes sedan lines are being reported alleging unanticipated acceleration with simultaneous brake failure or complete brake lockup resulting in loss of control of the vehicle, as one key example of the serious issues being reported.
Several consumers report taking their auto in for service numerous times because the brakes were so sensitive that they actually locked up the wheel, some drivers stating that they merely touched the brake pad and the car would rock to an immediate halt. Others allege that the brake pads wore down within months of purchase and that they saw structural damage in the braking assembly during repairs.
Numerous drivers allege complete brake failures, sometimes slowly with increasing "sponginess" as they loose their power, others report what sounds like an immediate failure with no warning signs. Others allege failures of the Anti-Slip restraint in the ABS system, causing temporary loss of control on highways and roads. In some cases the drivers claim they had to take the car off the road and re-start it to alleviate the problem, making very dangerous, poorly controlled maneuvers in sometimes dense traffic to make it to the median or side of the road.
Others report alleged transmission slippages and failures, repeated oil leaks from the engine, suspensions system failures and cracks, along with numerous allegations of less dangerous problems such as audio system failures, power window failures, cosmetic details falling off, etc.
