National Recall of Lobster Meat Products Issued

Washington, DC: Portland Shellfish Company Inc, is recalling the following brands of cooked, ready to eat fresh or frozen lobster meat: Portland Shellfish Co. Inc brand, Claw island, Craig's All Natural, and Inland Ocean cooked, fresh or frozen lobster claw and knuckle meat, as recent tests show the product has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
