Premarin

Premarin is an estrogen-only hormone replacement therapy (HRT) used to treat the symptoms of menopause. Premarin is the most popular HRT drug, and one of the most prescribed drugs in the world. Premarin is typically prescribed for women after a hysterectomy. Studies have linked use of Premarin (conjugated estrogens) to the following serious side effects: Stroke, Ovarian Cancer, Lupus, Scleroderma, and Gallbladder Cancer.

The National Institutes of Health recently stopped a trial of women taking Premarin estrogen replacement therapy after finding the drug not only failed to reduce the risk of heart disease but actually increased the possibility of strokes.

I was prescribed Premarin for menopause in 2014. After taking this medication, I had 3 strokes which left me with paralysiss and brain damage. I also needed to have a full oblation. I use an an AFO to walk. After nearly 10 years, I still have partial paralysis. My arm and leg have not recovered. My memories were damaged so for the last (almost) 10 years, most people are strangers to me. Premarin destroyed my life.

Took Premarin ( pregnant mare’s urine) in 1994, continued until 2006. At that time, drug companies said it would help the cardiovascular system, which is the only reason I took it after a salpingo oophorectomy. Then years later, they admitted
there was no cardiac benefits. No Attorney would take my case because they said there was no Premarin /breast cancer correlation. In 2006 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, estrogen positive!!!, and had a Mastectomy. They continued to sell the med without repercussions until now. What about the ones they lied to and made money off of and destroyed their lives????

My wife was prescribed Premarin by her gyn. She was on it for several years. Her gyn died in 2011, and her referral took her off the drug. Then in 2013 she was diagnosed with uterine cancer, had a hysterectomy, but the disease spread to her pelvis and turned into a sarcoma. She was gone in less than 10 months. I was told I had no recourse because of the "black box" warnings, and that I could not move against the deceased gyn's insurance. Only wondering now if I was given good advice. Any ideas?

I had a hysterectomy at 23. After 23 years, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I am not 13 yrs clean from that but have been diagnosed with a hear murmur and atrial hypertrophy. Coincidence or all related to 23 yrs of Premarin and the first 4 on Provera?

Hysterectomy at 33, put on Permarin (.9) at 45 just because I had had a hysterectomy (one ovary left). Had major stroke at 49. Now, in 2016. I'm ambulatory (wear an AFO), but have never regained the use of my left hand/arm.

In 1987 i had all my female organs removed. I went every year and had a mammagram. In 2011 i found a lump in my left underarm. I went to the doctor that day and the doctor said it was a liquid cyst. And told me it would go away. It did not i also had a mammagram that day and they said it was normal. In november of that year i went back to the doctor and he did a needle tissue sample and found out it was cancer. I had to have a lot of tests to find out where the primary was and they finally found it in my breast.

I started taking Premarin shortly after my hysterectomy to combat menopausal symptoms. I was in my early forties. I took the medicine until I was 57. I have had a mini stroke, a Stent placed in my left artery, suffer from severe hearing loss, arthritis in my hands and knees, and been treated for skin cancer. After much research during the last year, I am convinced Premarin is the culprit for most of my problems, since I have no family history of my ailments.
