About 900 Primovolta" and "Primavolta" Warming Gloves, made by Outdoor Research of Seattle WA, are being recalled because the glove's electric heating pad can short circuit and overheat, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
To date, Outdoor Research has received 5 reports of the gloves overheating, including 1 consumer who suffered burns to her hand.
The recalled winter gloves are black-colored and have a battery-powered heating element. The gloves included in the recall are style number 77000 (men's) in sizes S, M, L, XL, and style number 77010 (women's) in sizes S, M, L. The product name is printed on the inside cuff of the left glove.
The gloves were sold through major outdoor specialty retailers from September 2008 through January 2009 for about $260.
