Sundstrand
A settlement has been reached in the lawsuit filed on behalf of the families of Garuda Airlines crash victims. The Indonesian airline's domestic flight from Jakarta to Medan, clipped a tree on a mountain ridge and crashed in 1997, killing all 234 on board. The suit claimed that Sundstrand's ground proximity warning system on the plane was faulty. Plaintiffs will receive approximately $600,000 per family. (Sep-23-03) [ASIA PACIFIC]
