One of the largest tobacco companies who does business as Sun Tobacco and General Tobacco has joined the Master Settlement Agreement (MSA). Sun Tobacco is now subject to the same marketing restrictions as other MSA participants, which prohibits them from marketing tobacco products to youth. A $1.7 billion settlement will be made to the participating states over the next ten years. $1.8 million will be paid up front to the state of Georgia as well as $41 million that will be paid over the next 10 years.
