A $4.9 million dollar settlement has been reached in the personal injury suit filed against Volusia County Council on behalf of a Pensacola couple who were hit by a fire truck in 1999. Cordell Davidson and his wife Veronica were injured when a fire truck made an improper left-handturn and struck them while they were riding their motorcycle. The settlement, which is the largest in the county's history, is pending approval by the Legislature. (May-09-03) [HERALD TRIBUNE]
