LAWSUITS NEWS & LEGAL INFORMATION
Wachovia Bank, First Union Bank, CoreStates Bank
These banks offer various types of savings accounts to their customers, some of which have "passbooks" to record deposits and withdrawals.
Our client opened a passbook savings account at CoreStates Bank. She made several deposits in the account during the first year it was opened and then did nothing for several years. The next time our client went to the branch to make a deposit in this account, which was now a First Union branch, our client was informed that the account had been "zeroed out" by the Bank. The Bank (now Wachovia) charged our client's account for its "low balance" and/or "inactive" status.
Based upon the information we have, it is our opinion that the same or better claims against these Banks exist throughout the areas served by these Banks.
If you have any information about these practices of the Banks or have personally experienced them, please fill out the form below.
