W.C. Wood Company Inc. Announces Recall of over 100,000 Upright Freezers and Single Door Refrigerators
On September 27, 2005 the W.C. Wood Company of Ottawa, Ohio announced the recall of about 112,000 Automatic Defrost Upright Freezers and All-Refrigerators due to 46 reports that the defrost heater coil has become exposed inside the units, which poses a potential shock hazard to consumers. In some cases the exposed heater wire also melted, or burned the unit's interior plastic food liner.
The company states that no reports of injuries have been reported. The recalled brands and model numbers are as follows:

Manufactured in Canada and the United States, these refrigerators and freezers were sold in appliance, hardware and department stores throughout the US from September 2002 and February 2005, costing between $400 and $1000 per unit. Consumers are strongly urged to contact the manufacturer to arrange for a free repair.

The only problem I have is that ice accumulates in the bottom covering the basket and freezes it in place.
The freezer works great except for this.
Just trying to find out how to fix it.

Serial 05400251ML. Did not know about this recall until I was trying to locate parts for it. Please advise if can get any help or advice at this time. Thanks
