Xenadrine RFA-1 Side Effects
Xenadrine RFA-1 Sales Prohibited by FDA
Xenadrine RFA-1 contains a Chinese herb of the genus Ephedra, which contains the drug Ephedrine that has been linked to dangerous side effects. In a study commissioned by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), it was determined that ingesting products that contain Ephedrine may seriously harm or potentially kill some consumers. Ephedrine is a stimulant that acts on the central nervous system to relax bronchial tubes. It is an ingredient in a number of diet suppliments and weight loss products. The FDA has received over 120 reports of death or injuries related to Ephedrine. Some of the reported side effects include heart attack, stroke, hypertension, tachycardia, palpitations, fever, vomiting, paranoid psychosis, depression, convulsions and coma.
Xenadrine RFA-1 is also marketed as an energy booster and treatment for respiratory illness.
The FDA doesn't often exert it's power in the dietary supplement arena, but in this case they made an exception, prohibiting the sale of Ephedrine containing products beginning April 12, 2004, stating that "products containing Ephedrine" "- have been shown to pose a real risk to health"
