Dansby was reportedly pronounced dead due to head injuries after his fall, Norridge Police Chief James Jobe said.
"The village has pulled the park's business license and they are not allowed to operate until the park's rides are completely inspected," Jobe added.
While height requirements are reportedly not posted near the ride, Dansby met the requirements, which are posted at the entrance to the park, Jobe said. A preliminary investigation reportedly did not find any equipment malfunctions with the ride.
"We are very sorry about the incident that occurred and we are cooperating with the investigation that is underway," said Jim Hayes, general manager of the amusement park.
