How Theme Park Accidents Are Avoided

Orlando, FLWhile many people are sleeping after a long day of riding roller coasters, rides are constantly checked during the middle of the night in order to avoid theme park accidents, MyFoxOrlando reports.

span itemprop="image" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/ImageObject" style="display:block">"In fact, we have responded at times in the middle of the night for one of those maintenance personnel who has been injured on a ride aspect," Deputy Chief Greg Hoggatt with the Orlando Fire Department told the news source.

Hoggatt added that the reason a recent fire on the Dudley Do-Right ride at Universal Orlando was quickly put out and caused no injuries is that the fire department and staff members at the park often practice for similar emergencies.

Jerry Aldrich, a consultant for the amusement industry, told the news provider that the emergency crews know where all of the important equipment and electrical rooms are located so they can easily solve issues that arise.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the cause of the fire at the Dudley Do-Right ride is still under investigation and the ride will remain closed for several weeks for repairs and standard seasonal maintenance.
