Portland, ORSusan Williams prepared meals for her family using Moran's "all natural fine ground beef" for more than a month until she found out about the beef ecoli recall.
"We started getting stomach cramps, then nauseous and bloody stools with diarrhea without knowing why," says Williams (not her real name). "At first I thought we had all come down with the flu."
"Once I heard about this recall, it made sense what we had experienced, and since not eating this meat in the past two weeks, our symptoms subsided.
I returned the three remaining 5-pound bags I had in the freezer for an exchange at my local grocery store -- they were part of the recalled items dated in April.
Meanwhile, we spent a lot of money on medicine that didn't do any good: Immodium, Maalox and cold medicines. Not only have we suffered physically and financially, but my biggest concern is that e coli never leaves the system. A few years ago I had food poisoning and a gastroenterologist told me that this bacteria hides and builds up in your body and has the potential to create further damage to your kidneys and liver.
So this has me worried, especially after eating so much of this product and being so sick. It isn't over yet..."
Although a lawsuit can take time, don't give up. Instead, get involved--Susan Williams intends to do so.
