Fabe went on to file the retaliation suit against Cahuenga in September 2005. This past week she earned a $232,435 judgment.
Fabe's winnings include funds to cover four years of attorney fees, as well as back wages and court costs.
"This judgment sends a clear message to California employers that we will employ every means possible to seek justice for employees who have suffered retaliation," California's Labor Commissioner Angela Bradstreet tells Occupational Health and Safety Magazine. "We will vigorously enforce the anti-retaliation provisions of the labor code so that employees are protected under the labor code."
