Davis allegedly collected $46,800 in disability benefits while simultaneously working as a self-employed family care provider, according to an investigation conducted by the state insurance department's Fraud Bureau.
State police arrested Davis on October 10th, and she is now being charged with third-degree insurance fraud and first-degree falsifying business records. If convicted, she faces a possible sentence of up to seven years in prison. The case is being tried in St. Lawrence County by the office of the district attorney.
