Williams, who wears dentures, explained to the news source that it was extremely difficult to remove them at first, citing the strength of the adhesive.
"I was issued directions and a sample of the Fixodent," he told the news provider. "I started thinking: I can't do this every single day of my life. It wasn't working."
The new tool created by Williams, which will reportedly be produced by Midwest Molding Solutions in Bloomington, Illinois, comes in two different versions: one for the retail market and another for hospitals and nursing homes.
According to the National Library of Medicine, zinc poisoning caused by the use of Fixodent denture adhesive can potentially lead to body pain, low blood pressure and shortness of breath.
