Food Poisoning Postpones Elton John's Arizona Concert

Elton John's concert scheduled for last Wednesday at the Tucson Arena in Tucson, Arizona, had to be postponed because the singer was suffering from food poisoning.

The famed piano rocker who sings such classics as "Rocket Man" and "Your Song" was set to play before a nearly sold-out concert hall before he became ill. However, John recovered in time to put on an excellent show the following night for the nearly 9,000 people in attendance, according to the Arizona Daily Star.

"I'm so sorry about yesterday and that I had to inconvenience you," John told the audience, according to the news source. "I wasn't feeling well. I feel a little better. I cannot not come sing for you."

This wasn't the first time the performer had to cancel shows due to illness. The singer-songwriter was forced to cancel a number of shows on the West Coast in 2009 when he was hospitalized with flu symptoms and an E. coli infection, reports the news source.

John will wrap up the American part of his tour within the next few weeks. He will then play a five-night engagement at the Monte Carlo Sporting Club in Monaco. Following that gig, he will go on a tour of Europe until the end of the year.
