Two Motorcyclists Killed In Separate Kansas City Accidents

Kansas City, MOTwo motorcyclists were recently killed in separate Kansas City accidents.

He was riding alongside a companion who was not involved in the accident, according to KMBC, an ABC affiliate. The driver of the car was not injured.

Police said they spent much of the evening trying to determine precisely how the accident occurred.

A few hours later that same night, emergency crews were sent to the scene of an accident where a car had collided with a motorcycle. The rider died in the crash.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MDOT), there were 1,442 motorcycle crashes throughout the state in 2009. Of these, 58 of the accidents were fatal, resulting in the deaths of 59 individuals.

Overall, there were 101,005 total crashes involving any type of vehicle in Missouri in 2009. There were 778 fatal accidents across the state in 2009, which resulted in the deaths of 883 people, according to the MDOT.
