County Attorney Candidate Was Twice Sued for Legal Malpractice

Ravalli County, MTA candidate for a county attorney seat in Montana was twice found guilty of legal malpractice, according to the Missoula Independent.

The news source recently revealed that Fulbright lost two legal malpractice cases in the early 2000s.

The first was in 2002, when Sacramento resident Monica R. Larkin secured $55,370 from Fulbright for legal malpractice. One year later, then-Sacramento resident Dee Gomez received a claim of $250,392 in a legal malpractice case against Fulbright.

The revelations about Fulbright's legal past came after the attorney turned over his bankruptcy records to the Ravalli Republic in a bid for transparency. Those records revealed that as of 2004 Fulbright owed $47,095 in principal in student loans and an additional $42,461 in interest. The candidate for county attorney had spent 10 years wrangling with the Federal Student Loan Commission over the interest on his loans.
