Meanwhile, another accident claimed the life of a pedestrian attempting to cross Interstate 70 with a companion. The Kansas City Star reports that the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car traveling along the highway may have been homeless. The companion ran from the scene after the accident happened.
According to reports, there was no indication that the driver of the car was impaired. The driver was traveling at a normal rate of speed for the highway at the time the Missouri accident occurred.
The Kansas City Star reported on 9/27/10 that Interstate 70 abuts a shopping center. There is no fence separating the shopping district from the highway. Could this be a recipe for future Missouri accident injury? Time will tell.
