Bushnell, FLA pick-up truck caused a deadly motorcycle accident this weekend in central Florida when it struck four motorcyclists on their way back from a gathering of friends on Saturday night.
According to the official report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the truck driver – who was operating his vehicle with a suspended license – misjudged his distance from the cyclists when attempting to pass another vehicle. The pickup truck plowed into the motorcycles, instantly killing the two drivers and one passenger. Another passenger was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.
The truck driver suffered only minor injuries, according to the Saint Petersburg Times.
Prior to the incident, the cyclists had been participating in a daylong barbeque at a friend's property with roughly 80 other biking enthusiasts. Murray Rush, a long-time friend of the two drivers, said the group had made plans to meet again in the future.
"We were talking about doing [the barbeque] again next year," Rush told Tampabay.com. "That's what's so sad about it."
