Human resource director Mike Rhymes was looking through pay records to see if traffic engineering employee Ricardo Nance could receive the disability. Rhymes claimed he discovered that Nance had been receiving overtime pay during a period when he was reportedly sick, the news source said.
"The whole issue is still under review," Mayo said. "We are hoping to wrap up everything as soon as we can so we can move forward."
According to the US Department of Labor, employees covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) must be given overtime pay for hours exceeding 40 in a given work week.
