Atlantic City, NJ/> A man from New Jersey has filed a lawsuit against Phusion Projects, the makers of the once popular drink Four Loko alleging he suffered permanent heart damage from consuming the beverage.
Michael Musctica, who is a tire salesman in Knowlton Township, filed the suit last week, claiming that after he drank 2.5 cans of Four Loko he suffered heart arrhythmia.
Four Loko drinks, which are fruit flavoured malt beverages with an alcohol content of 12 percent and a high amount of caffeine are dangerous, according to doctors, because the caffeine masks the effect of the alcohol so people can't tell how intoxicated they really are.
In November, Phusion Projects agreed to remove caffeine from the drink in November after complaints from the Food and Drug Administration.
