San Diego, CAA boat accident involving a 25 foot sailboat left two men dead and eight people injured, Sunday. The two men drowned when the sailboat capsized near Shelter Island in San Diego Bay.
The cause of the boat accident is not known as the seas were calm and the wind mild, at the time. According to a report on CBS News.com, Harbor Police pulled all 10 passengers out of the water and took them to a nearby boat dock where 60 paramedics and firefighters were standing by. The two deceased were in their 50s and 60s and were declared dead at the scene. Seven others were taken to local hospitals. Two children were subsequently released from hospital following treatment. None of the injuries sustained by the remaining passengers were life-threatening or critical.
Reportedly, most of the passengers were members of the same Asian family and did not speak English. Harbor Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
