The aircraft was registered to FIT Aviation LLC of Melbourne, an arm of the Florida Institute of Technology. According to a report on CNN.com, two students, a flight instructor and another individual from the school were on board when the plane crashed. The plane was reportedly in excellent mechanical condition, having recently been inspected. School officials believe a student with advanced skills was flying, with the instructor seated near by, Winston E. Scott, dean of the institute's College of Aeronautics, told CNN.
