Tardive Dyskinesia One of Major Reglan Side Effects

Scottsdale, AZAccording to the Mayo Clinic, Reglan side effects can occasionally include high fever or difficulty breathing, and patients are encouraged to contact their doctors if they experience any such symptoms.

To do this, the drug increases the contractions and movements in the stomach and intestines, according to the clinic.

However, in February 2009, the US Food and Drug Administration announced that it would require a "boxed warning" for Reglan and other drugs that contain Metoclopramide to alert patients about the risks of taking them for an extended period of time.

According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, one of the most serious potential side effects of Reglan use can be tardive dyskinesia, which can result in the patient being unable to control certain movements of muscles, particularly those in the face.
