Eleven Children Injured in St. Louis Traffic Accident Involving School Bus

Arnold, MOA St. Louis traffic accident on November 1st resulted in two drivers and 11 students being injured, according to St. Louis Public Radio News.

span itemprop="image" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/ImageObject" style="display:block">The accident, which took place in the St. Louis suburb of Arnold, occurred when a pickup truck hit a school bus from behind. The bus had stopped in order to allow a student to board.

Fox School District Superintendent Dianne Brown told the news source that 18 students from Clyde Hamrick Elementary School were onboard the bus at the time of the incident. Eleven of the students sustained minor injuries. They were taken to the hospital along with the drivers of the bus and the pickup truck as a precautionary measure.

According to the source, there is no current information on whether the driver of the pickup truck received a ticket.

According to an annual report on traffic accident statistics released by the Missouri Department of Transportation, there were 206 crashes involving a school bus in the state in 2009. Of those crashes, 150 involved only property damage, 54 caused injuries to 133 people, and two resulted in two fatalities.
