Man Dies from Injuries Sustained in Washington State Car Accident

Ballard, WAA father who was trapped in his vehicle with his daughter as the result of a Washington state car accident has died recently.

Authorities believe that the accident that claimed the life of Andy Kotowicz was caused by a driver who was speeding on 15th Avenue Northwest in Ballard, Washington, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. The speeder reportedly crashed into one car, kept driving, then rear-ended Kotowicz's Subaru, causing a chain-reaction crash.

Kotowicz and his daughter were trapped in their wrecked vehicle, which reportedly caught fire after the accident. The girl was rescued by a Good Samaritan but Kotowicz remained trapped until firefighters arrived on the scene. He passed away a few days after the crash at Harborview Medical Center.

The news source reports that witnesses said that the driver who allegedly caused the crash appeared to be having a seizure after the incident.

Kotowicz was the head of marketing for Sub Pop records, reports the news provider.

"Andy was one of those people who oozed wisdom, warmth and kindness. He had a twinkle in his eye, a great sense of humor, and every time we talked, he had a fantastic new band to turn me on to," friend Kyla Fairchild wrote in a tribute, reports MyBallard.com.
