Michigan Man Files Wrongful Termination Suit Against Ford Dealer

. By Charles Benson

A 60-year-old man from Bad Axe, Michigan, has filed suit against the car dealership where he used to work, alleging that he was wrongfully terminated.

Patrick Gottschalk was fired from George Ordus Ford-Mercury in Bad Axe on January 20, 2009, according to the Bay City Times. Gottschalk had been working at the dealership since 1976, serving as service manager since 1977, until the day he was fired. He claims that his work performance was satisfactory for the duration of his employment with the organization.

In his suit, which was filed with the US District Court in Bay City, Gottschalk also claims that the dealership continued to use his name without his permission in advertisements that were mailed to long-time customers.

The news provider was unable to reach a spokesman for the dealership at the time of writing.

It is estimated that more than 250,000 people are unjustly fired from their jobs each year, many of whom file suit claiming insufficient cause for their dismissal.
