Bayer Attorneys Submit 10 Million Pages of Documents for Yasmin Lawsuits

. By Charles Benson

Lawyers for Bayer, the makers of the Yasmin birth control pill, produced 10 million pages of internal documents for the plaintiffs, who are suing the drug maker over the oral contraceptives' adverse side effects, including gallbladder problems and an increased risk of blood clots.

Despite the impressive output by Bayer's lawyers, the attorneys for the plaintiffs in a number of cases are not happy with the quality of the 10 million pages, according to the Madison-St. Clair Record. Plaintiff lawyers claim that there are faulty page breaks in the documents, making them difficult to decipher.

Michael Burg of Englewood, Colorado, one of the plaintiffs in the Yasmin lawsuit, told the news source that the ordering of the documents was absurd and that it would take a secret code to figure them out.

Bayer's attorneys said that they scanned 90 percent of the documents correctly and were working to fix the remaining problems.

In addition to gallbladder problems and blood clots, Yasmin side effects can include chest pain and coughing up of blood, according to Drugs.com.
