Crestwood Hotel Partners Limited Partnerships, Promus Hotels.
The parents of a woman who was beaten to death have settled a lawsuit filed against the owners of the Chicago hotel where the woman was staying when she was killed. The owners of the hotel, Crestwood Hotel Partners Limited Partnerships, and the Hampton Inn franchiser, Promus Hotels of Memphis, will pay $4.6 million dollars to the woman's parents to settle the suit which alleged that they had been negligent by not performing background checks on their employees, as well as failing to monitor the employees actions. Nan Toder was killed by the hotel's maintenance manager who had a master key to all rooms in the hotel. (Apr-15-03)
