Wal-Mart.
A $200,000 settlement has been reached in the lawsuit filed against Wal-Mart over the sale of toy guns in their New York stores. The company was accused of selling the toys without safeguards to ensure that they did not look too much like real weapons. Under federal law, toy gun barrels must have an orange end piece on the toy gun barrels, and under New York law requires a non-removable orange stripe on the end of the barrel. Under the terms of settlement, Wal-Mart also agreed to prohibit the sale of toy guns in the colors black, blue, silver or aluminum. (Jun-06-03) [AJC]
