A $1.5 million dollar settlement has been reached in the consumer protection lawsuit filed against The Safeway Corporation. The suit claimed that the company's "Buy One, Get One Free" advertising was misleading, as the policy did not apply to two identically priced items, but only to different priced items, the lower-priced item being free.
