City of Avondale, Arizona.

A $5.9 million dollar settlement has been reached in the lawsuit filed in 1999 by developer Wayne Spiekerman against the city of Avondale, Arizona. The suit claimed that the city was dragging their feet on approvals and violating development agreements. The settlement is to be split between Spiekerman and the Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System, who was an investor in the project and provided the upfront costs for the lawsuit.
