Caltrans, Santa Cruz and Monterey County Water Agencies.

An $11 million settlement has been reached in the lawsuit filed against Caltrans, California's manager of interregional transport systems, as well as Santa Cruz and Monterey county water agencies, on behalf of about 200 home, business and landowners who suffered damages when the Pajaro River Levee broke and the town was flooded in March 1995. The plaintiffs claimed that the damages were the result of "a failure of the flood control system." Damage estimates from the flood were between $50 million and $60 million.
