A $14 million verdict has been reached in the lawsuit filed on behalf of the Mission that alleged Hawthorn and Beers had misused charity funds. The two were found liable for civil and solicitation fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, conversion and unjust enrichment. (May-26-04) [BEACON JOURNAL]
