DSJ Construction Company
A $700,000 settlement has been reached in a personal injury lawsuit involving a construction site accident.
The lawsuit was brought by Balint Kramlik against contractors and sub contractors regarding non-compliance with OSHA safety regulations at a Jersey City construction site. The non-compliance of safety regulations resulted in Kramlik having to amputation of several toes.
Kramlik, a union plumber, stepped on nail protruding from wood left at a construction site in Port Liberty in Jersey City. The general contractor had performed framing on the multi-million dollar housing construction site project. The injury appeared minor at first, but later Kramlik, who is a type-1 diabetic, suffered amputations of several toes on his left foot due to diabetic complications.
Kramlik's injury left him disabled and dependant. He said that "If they had complied with OSHA safety regulations, then he would be working today. A little safety can go a long way to prevent serious accidents ... and keep costs down." [PRESS RELEASE WEB]
