Natural Country Farms
Natural Country Farms has agreed to spend $28,280 for environmental projects and pay a penalty of $7,541 to settle claims by the US Environmental Protection Agency. Apparently, the Connecticut based company did not report a release of anhydrous ammonia from its juice packaging facility. Approximately 6,134 pounds of anhydrous ammonia was released into the environment and over 1,500 people had to evacuate. Numerous local, state and federal organizations responded to the major chemical emergency; costing the state thousands of dollars. (Nov-15-04)
