After two trials, Milton Lantigua was convicted of second degree murder in 1990 and sentenced to 20 years in prison. After serving five years, the state appeals court overturned his conviction. Lantigua filed a civil rights lawsuit against the city of New York and was awarded $1 million for lost time and damages. (Feb-05-05)
